The Health and Human Services Sub-Committee of the Wood County Economic Development Commission has developed a survey to gain input regarding citizen perceptions, views, and thoughts about current health care and human services in the county and areas in those categories that are in need of attention.
The objective of this survey is to bring about improvement for those currently living within the county, as well as, to make Wood County more attractive in the future for prospective new residents and businesses.
The survey is completely anonymized so each participant can feel free to express their most honest opinions on the topics discussed. As an extra step to protect your anonymity, no data on IP addresses will be collected as a result of this survey.

Update: The Texas Office of the Attorney General has released its commercial lodging establishment human trafficking prevention training video available here. This training is available for free to all Texas commercial lodging establishments to have employees complete in order to remain in compliance with the new law.
A new law taking effect at the beginning of 2022 (HB 390) will require commercial lodging businesses in Wood County and all across the state of Texas to conduct training for their employees pertaining to human trafficking.
Lodging businesses have until December 31, 2022 to train employees hired before 2022, but employees hired on or after January 1, 2022 will have to be trained within 90 days of hiring.
Currently, the Texas Hotel and Lodging Association (THLA) is working with the Texas Attorney General in devising and adopting training programs for local businesses to use to remain in compliance with the law, but no official training programs have been issued as of the writing of this article.

Peoples Telephone Cooperative, Inc. is preparing to break ground on a USDA ReConnect fiber project that will deploy broadband in an unserved area of Wood County east of the Wood County Airport.
