tom callanAllene Doggett traveled all over the country with her career, but has deep roots in the Mineola community. She is now retired and owns The Harris House, a 90 year-old guest cottage.

After 37 years with the U.S. Postal Service, she happily retired and moved back to where she raised her family. Along with her MHS graduate children, she just had her first MHS graduate grandchild!

Allene spent 18 years as Mineola's Post Master. She was voted Mineola Woman of the Year in 1985. She now serves on the Wood County Economic Development Commission and she's also a long time Mineola Chamber of Commerce member. She's been involved in several civic communities and worked on many committees throughout the years. She was also involved in the 1996 success of Mineola being a stop along Amtrak!

While being an involved pillar of the community, devoted mother and building a successful career; Allene acquired a bachelor's degree in Business from Texas A&M, Commerce. She also has college credit from Eckard College, St. Petersburg, FL working toward a Masters degree in Marketing.

Her expertise with the Postal Service was spread over several states and involved many positions. Including, but not limited to: Acting Marketing Manager for the Suncoast District, Tampa, FL. Administrative Manager for Midwest Area, St. Louis, MO. USPS Seven States Project Manager for Retail Pilot Program. She was responsible for building new revenue, customer sales and deployment of the automated postal centers throughout the country.

Allene has started a new chapter in her life, as a proud grandmother and a Mineola Yellow Jacket Super-fan. She is eager as ever to make a difference in this community.
